10.10.2010 – Dominick R. Pilla, an engineer, architect and founder of Dominick R. Pilla Associates, PC has been named Associate Professor by the Bernard and Ann Spitzer School of Architecture at CUNY. An adjunct faculty member since 2004, Mr. Pilla is now on the tenure track. Mr. Pilla earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering with a minor in Architecture and Planning from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He also holds an M.S. degree in Civil Engineering from the NJIT’s Newark College of Engineering.
Mr. Pilla has served as Principal-in-Charge of all of the DRPILLA’s major projects since his firm’s inception in 1999. As a result of his training and experience as both architect and engineer, Mr. Pilla brings a unique perspective to his role as Associate Professor. His experience in the design of mixed-use, institutional, supportive housing and long-span structures enables him to provide students with a clearer understanding of how the academic concepts they study are applied in the design and construction industry.
