A Unique Restoration

Two main buildings on the property were restored, modified and augmented. The stable, formally used to house horses which pulled carriages and coaches, was designed to store and display eight performance automobiles – ranging from Ferrari’s, Lamborghini’s, Rolls Royce’s to Bentley’s. Additionally, the upper level was designed to include a kitchen and four bedrooms. The smaller building, the carriage house, was restored and used as detached garage, mechanic’s space and fuel station.

Structural Bolstering to Accommodate Reconfiguration

The first floor level was made into a clear space to allow the maneuvering of vehicles. The floor surface is terrazzo floor on top of the concrete slab-on-grade. All the foundations were bolstered or removed and replaced. The entire structural system also received bolstering and / or rebuilding and reconfiguration. The new roof system was designed to accommodate additional loads imposed by the new graduated slate roof.
