Structural and Geotechnical Engineering and Structural Monitoring
DRPILLA is currently providing the structural, geotechnical, and monitoring services for three existing wood framed masonry, contiguous, five story buildings. The landmark protected buildings are receiving significant modifications and additions that include 33,166 SF of new floor structure, including terraces, new basement and sub-basement levels. Both permanent and temporary structural supports are necessary to retain the stability of the facades during demotion and construction. Particular attention is being paid to the order in which the shoring occurs. By providing comprehensive sequencing, our office is able to systematically transfer the supporting loads to the new structure and minimize the interference of temporary supports.
