An existing (5) five story building was renovated and modified to accommodate new sidewalk vaults, retail store front, center stairs and full height center atrium, replacement of all floor and roof construction. The existing wall system is a brick masonry system with timber floor system. Interior columns are wood and cast iron. All modifications were required to adapt to existing structural systems. This building was adjoined by a new (5) five story brick veneer building. The structural system is cold-formed steel walls and floors with concrete floor decks. The new roof of the existing building was designed for an energy efficient “green roof” system to provide a park-like atmosphere.
