This new two-story, brick face building with common rooms, gardens, gyms and computer labs is designed to create a sense of community among veterans of all eras. The main and upper levels are each approximately 16,500 SF, and the basement level is approximately 10,000 SF; the total building floor area is 43,000 SF. The basement has a walk-out façade on one elevation. The building is constructed of concrete block walls and pre-cast plank floors and its sustainable design features green roofs, pervious hardscapes, energy efficient HVAC systems and appliances, a microturbine for waste energy capture and reuse, and low impact materials such as local, recycled, and renewable resources.
