Bookkeeper / HR Specialist

DRPILLA is currently seeking a highly organized and experienced Bookkeeper/HR Specialist to oversee both financial and human resources recordkeeping. This dual-role position requires a detail-oriented professional with strong accounting and HR administrative skills, capable of working independently while managing multiple responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update the general ledger accurately and in a timely manner
  • Process accounts payable and receivable
  • Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements
  • Prepare and process payroll, including related reporting and compliance
  • Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and tax regulations
  • Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures
  • Maintain accurate and complete financial records

Human Resources Responsibilities:

  • Administer payroll processing, including tax filings, benefits, and compliance with relevant laws
  • Manage employee records and ensure accurate documentation of new hires, terminations, and promotions
  • Assist in the recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, and interview scheduling
  • Support employee onboarding and orientation programs
  • Maintain and update company HR policies and procedures to comply with regulations
  • Track and manage employee leave (sick, vacation, personal)
  • Facilitate employee performance reviews and goal setting
  • Assist with employee relations issues, including conflict resolution and mediation
  • Coordinate and maintain training and development programs for staff

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of proven experience as a full-charge bookkeeper or in a similar role
  • Proven HR experience with a strong understanding of payroll, benefits, and employee relations
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Unanet) and Microsoft Office (Word & Excel)
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and HR compliance
  • Familiarity with payroll processing and tax regulations
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and prioritize tasks
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, HR, or related field is preferred but not required
