DRPILLA spearheaded a comprehensive endeavor encompassing structural engineering design and restoration services for the redevelopment of this historic site in Huntington, NY. This ambitious project centered around the transformation of a 110-year-old Town Hall building into an impressive 65,000-square-foot, 80-room hotel development. Our scope of work extended to various critical aspects, including the design of detailed demolition and sequencing plans. Our team also engineered an intricate shoring and underpinning design to ensure the structural stability of the site. Additionally, our team played a key role in facilitating Special Inspections to guarantee compliance with rigorous industry standards.

Integrating the Old with the New

This expansive project featured a multi-faceted structural program. It entailed the construction of a one-story, 13,680-square-foot parking garage at the ground level, topped with three stories of hotel rooms and amenities. These accommodations included a stunning rooftop yoga pavilion. All of this was skillfully integrated into the existing three-story, 8,600-square-foot structure, preserving the historical charm of the original building while transforming it into a modern hospitality destination.
