Junior Structural Engineer

DRPILLA is currently seeking a full-time Junior Structural Engineer to join our Structural Practice. The ideal candidate will support the design, analysis, and coordination of a wide range of projects, including office buildings, hotels, residential developments, educational facilities, performing arts venues, sports facilities, and medical office buildings.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The essential functions of this position include:

  • Review structural systems and foundations and assist in performing analyses for existing and proposed structural configurations.
  • Support structural analysis efforts using hand calculations, finite element analysis software, and other accepted engineering methods.
  • Assist in conducting structural investigations and evaluations of existing buildings.
  • Contributes to the design of structural modifications for vertical structures and foundation systems.
  • Prepare engineering reports and documentation for internal review.
  • Perform site visits, as needed, to collect field data and support project assessments.
  • Review shop drawings, structural drawings, and calculations for accuracy and compliance.
  • Travel may be required based on project needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering is required; Master’s degree and/or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred.
  • 1-4 years of relevant structural engineering experience.
  • Basic understanding of structural modeling, design, and analysis of building systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (2019 or newer preferred).
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to travel to job sites, including within the NYC Metropolitan Area.
