On the front facade, stainless steel window screens were incorporated to provide privacy and offer sun shading. The building was conceived to strengthen the occupants’ connection with their environment; this is evident in the installation of a solar array on the roof, which powers the eco-penthouse, and the garden duplex’s backyard, which has been landscaped with perennial plants, grasses, shrubs, and trees, evoking the natural ambiance of nearby Brooklyn Bridge Park.

DRPILLA provided structural engineering design for a novel project: a boutique condominium building spanning four stories and housing three individual units, located in Carroll Gardens. The client's primary objectives revolved around conscientious design and the incorporation of locally sourced materials, with the aim of creating a structure that made a bold architectural statement while preserving the harmonious character of the surrounding townhouses. The condominiums within this building encompass a duplex eco-penthouse, a two-bedroom floor-through unit, and a garden duplex. While all units share a common palette of distinctive design elements, each possesses its own distinct personality and character.
