Structural Design for a New Building

The building’s construction type is a steel moment frame with metal deck and concrete floor construction, spread footings and cast-in-place foundation walls. The building frame system utilizes typical steel moment frames as the main wind force resisting system in tandem with a CMU elevator and stair core. The exterior walls are a “curtain wall” application and interior walls are cold-formed partition walls. The curtain wall façade is a masonry panel system which attaches to the building frame.
